Infrasound. Bad stuff. It's sound below 20 Hz(Hertz).
Wind turbines produce it. It turns out that data centers, like the one shown above, make loads of it — worse than wind turbines, it appears.
We don't hear it; we feel it. It messes up the vestibular organs in the inner ear. Click here to read what it does to you.
Dr. Nina Pierpont published a book on this in 2009 — on wind turbine infrasound which, as I say, is identical to data center infrasound. Pierpont called it Wind Turbine Syndrome. Now we have Data Center Sickness. (Infrasound sickness is no longer called a "syndrome" since we now have plenty of data to confirm it is a full-blown "disease.")
It's driving neighbors crazy. Some people have abandoned their homes.
You don't want to live anywhere near one of these abominations, which also use gigantic quantities of water (to cool the computers) and mind-blowing amounts of electricity.

I read/watched this article/video with great interest, because we have a huge Data Center (DC) here in Las Vegas, NV that claims to be sustainable (uses solar energy and recycles water). It was located here partly because of the relative lack of extreme weather events such as rain, snow, hurricanes, tornadoes and very mild earthquakes (high temperatures notwithstanding).
So, even if you can have a sustainable version of a DC, from an electrical point of view, the high water use still makes these an abomination, especially in the desert. The one here is held up as a sustainable model for other DCs in the country, but who knows (based on what I see here) how true that is.
Ironically, the DC was seen as such a positive development by the community, because it was a step towards economic diversification, away from gaming.

Professor, I warn you: these people lie. I mean, they lie like an eight-year-old. My wife and I have been fighting various so-called reneweable energy projects since 2004, globally: wind turbines, solar plants, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and, now, Data Centers.
By the way, it’s bullshit that they will recycle water. It is impossible to recycle the amount of water these projects require.
I often wonder why “progress” takes us a step or two forward, but usually more steps backward.
Editor’s response: Yep. Seems that way, doesn’t it?
Hmm, come to think of it, why do we think we are progressing? I mean, in what sense are humans progressing? (Be careful with your answer. You may find you’re regurgitating the bullshit we’ve been brainwashed to regurgitate.)

Will post. Thanks Calvin. Again brilliant and punchy.
The lack of forward thinking is frightening. Co-opted by business and governments.

Our government hates us. They will do anything to make money on our backs.
